Workshop 1: Painting Through Video

Thursday, August 27th, 5:00–7:00 PM (with an invitation for the class to experiment with the artists in the studio from 7pm to 8pm)

Led by Wyona Gene (with Arvid Tomayko assisting)

Transform your footage into layered moving images. Experiment with green screen, texture, color, natural imagery, and video collage while building practical editing skills for phone or computer.

Approaching video as a creative material, you’ll make your own moving compositions and experience them projected onto the inflatable sculptures of Innerworkings Theater.

No previous video-editing experience is necessary.

Note: Both workshops are designed as stand-alone learning experiences, but participants are encouraged to attend both sessions. Wyona Gene and Arvid Tomayko will be present throughout each workshop, alternating roles as lead artist and assisting artist.

Workshop 2: Sculpting with Light: Projection Mapping, Inflatable Sculpture, & Moving Image

Thursday, September 3rd, 5:00–7:00 PM (with an invitation for the class to experiment with the artists in the studio from 7pm to 8pm)

Led by Arvid Tomayko (with Wyona Gene assisting)

Discover how light can transform sculpture and space through projection mapping. Participants will learn approachable techniques for adapting moving images to inflatable sculptures and architectural surfaces while exploring projection as a creative medium for installation, exhibition, and immersive environments. No previous experience is necessary.
