In the heart of the renowned Provincetown arts scene is a new community space. Located on the 2nd Floor of 330 Commercial Street, Provincetown, MA, Motion Works is part of Provincetown Community Television. It is a gallery and education space primarily focused on display and creation of video artwork.

As one of America's oldest art colonies, Provincetown has a remarkable artistic legacy. We believe that legacy carries a responsibility to support not only the history of the arts, but also the artists shaping its future.
Motion Works showcases experimental work with an emphasis on video, moving images, installation, projection, sound, and interdisciplinary media. Our goal is to provide an open, flexible space where creativity can thrive and visitors can experience innovative work that engages the senses.

Workshop 1: Painting Through Video
Thursday, August 27th, 5:00–7:00 PM (with an invitation for the class to experiment with the artists in the studio from 7pm to 8pm)
Led by Wyona Gene (with Arvid Tomayko assisting)
Transform your footage into layered moving images. Experiment with green screen, texture, color, natural imagery, and video collage while building practical editing skills for phone or computer.
Approaching video as a creative material, you’ll make your own moving compositions and experience them projected onto the inflatable sculptures of Innerworkings Theater.
No previous video-editing experience is necessary.
Note: Both workshops are designed as stand-alone learning experiences, but participants are encouraged to attend both sessions. Wyona Gene and Arvid Tomayko will be present throughout each workshop, alternating roles as lead artist and assisting artist.
